The Chosen season 6 premieres on Prime Video on November 15, in the United States and internationally. The first three episodes arrive together, and the rest follow weekly, on November 22, November 29 and December 6. Seasons one to five are already streaming on Prime Video.

This is the season the show has been building towards. According to the show's own announcements it covers the last 24 hours of Jesus's life, from the events of Good Friday to the arrest and crucifixion, and it follows the confusion of the disciples. The last episode will not stream in the same way. It is planned as a separate theatrical release during Holy Week in spring 2027, though one outlet gives March, so the exact month is still unclear.

That structure is the interesting bit. A streaming series that finishes in a cinema is a bold way to end, and The Chosen has a history of filling theatres with its episodes. I think a communal viewing suits a story like this, whatever you believe.

It is also a busy week. The Rings of Power returns four days earlier, on November 11, so Prime Video has two big series in one month plus Blade Runner 2099 at the end. Whether the audiences overlap much is a fair question.

If you have followed The Chosen from the beginning, how are you feeling about the ending? Will you wait for the theatrical finale or watch it all in one go?
