TV Insider's November streaming guide lists a big library drop on Netflix starting November 1. The film titles include Whiplash, Looper, Stand by Me, Bridesmaids, The Day After Tomorrow, Air Force One, Fury, Richard Jewell, The Mummy and Cliffhanger. Resident Evil and Resident Evil: Apocalypse are on the list too, along with Insidious: Chapter 2 and Chapter 3.

If I could only watch one, it would be Whiplash. It is a tight, furious film about a drummer and his teacher, and its last ten minutes are still among the best I have seen. Looper is a clever time-travel thriller that rewards a second viewing, and Stand by Me is the kind of coming-of-age story that has been copied many times and never beaten.

There is TV in the mix as well. Rectify seasons one to four are listed for November 1, Will Trent seasons one to four for November 3, The Neighborhood seasons one to eight for November 5, and Power seasons one to sixteen for November 9. Later in the month the guide shows Insidious and Smile on November 15 and Obsession and RBG on November 17.

Library titles tend to come and go, and the guide gives only the start dates. I would not assume any of these stay for long, so if there is something you have been meaning to rewatch, do it early.

Which one are you queueing first? And are there any old favourites you wish Netflix would bring back?
