Gulte reported on October 27 that around ten Telugu films are lined up for release on November 12 and 13. The headline calls it a dozen, though the article names nine new films and one re-release, so the number is flexible. The names are Donga Naa Koduku, Itlu Arjuna, Dark Chocolate, Romeo Juliet, Bhogi, GOAT, Ah Talcum Powder, Chandrayaan and Maya Lady, with a theatrical re-release of Geethanjali.

Bhogi is the one with the buzz. Sharwanand plays a rugged rural character, and the film has two songs and a teaser out. Gulte also calls Mouli's Donga Naa Koduku, Sudheer's GOAT and Itlu Arjuna notable. The article gives no stars or directors for the others, and I will not guess.

The concern is obvious. Many films in a two-day window mean fewer screens and shows for each, and none of them has started full promotion yet. The article says the smaller films will need strong word of mouth to survive. It also points out that, apart from Bhogi, no major release is competing, which could help them.

This pattern repeats in Telugu cinema every few weeks. Producers choose a weekend that looks empty and many of them choose the same one. Audiences end up picking one film, and the others fade after a few days.

If you can only see one that weekend, which would you pick? I would probably go with Bhogi on the strength of the music.
