The TV Insider guide lists a long set of November titles for Plex, which streams a free ad-supported catalogue in many regions. The guide gives no dates, only the month. The list reads like a good film club, with Aftersun, Moonlight, Minari, First Cow, Ex Machina, Close, C'mon C'mon, Priscilla and Red Rocket.

Horror fans get a lot too. X, Pearl: An X-traordinary Origin Story and MaXXXine are all there, along with You're Next, The Devil's Rejects, The Crazies and Green Room. And the guide includes more demanding drama such as First Reformed, A Most Violent Year, Fruitvale Station, American Honey and The Souvenir with its sequel.

A few of the picks are less obvious. Jesse Stone has seven movies listed, Starship Troopers and the three Blade films are in, and so are Dream Scenario and The Disaster Artist. I would not call it a curated list so much as a wide net, but there are good films in it.

For me, the standout is Aftersun. It is a quiet film about a father and daughter on holiday, and it hurts more each time I think about it. Minari and First Cow are close behind.

A free service with a list like this is hard to argue with. What would you watch first?
