The Chosen has been building towards this season since the first episode, and the release plan shows how much is riding on it. Season six arrives on Prime Video on November 15 with three episodes, then one a week through December 6. It covers the last day of Jesus's life, from the arrest to the cross, which the show has spent five seasons approaching very slowly. The trailer that dropped this month is sombre in a way the earlier seasons never were.
The twist is that the finale is not streaming. It opens in cinemas first as The Chosen: Crucifixion on March 12, 2027, which means the streaming season ends on episode six with the crucifixion itself held back for a theatrical event three months later. Some fans are annoyed about that and I understand why, but the series has done cinema releases for its season openers before and they have made serious money, so this was always where it was going.

Jonathan Roumie is still the reason the show works. He plays Jesus as someone who is tired and funny and a little frightened, and the Passion material is going to ask more of him than anything so far. The supporting cast around the disciples has quietly become one of the better ensembles on streaming, which nobody says out loud because of what the show is about.

Whatever your view of the subject, it is one of the few genuine word-of-mouth phenomena in television, crowdfunded into a global hit, and the back half of this season is the payoff for all of that. Are you watching, and do you mind waiting until March for the ending?
